Midterm Election Shows that Americans Favor Democracy

Voters across the country expressed support for pro-democracy reform by passing a number of ballot measures during this year’s midterms. Campaign finance reform was a big winner. In Denver and Baltimore, new public financing systems were approved with majorities of the vote, and in New York City, voters overwhelmingly opted to strengthen the existing small-donor match.
