Public Campaign Financing Sees Record Year in Connecticut

It was a “tremendous” year for public financing in Connecticut, according to the Connecticut State Elections Enforcement Commission.  In total, 335 candidates took part in the state’s Citizens Election Program. That number is the high-water mark for participating candidates in the state’s public financing system, which has been lauded for allowing candidates to spend time meeting with their constituents and respond to their concerns, rather than fundraising.
