Big money dominates New York politics, according to a new analysis by the Brennan Center for Justice. Just 100 large donors gave more to statewide races in New York during the 2018 cycle than all 137,000 donors who gave $175 or less. The report argues that a small donor public financing program and other campaign finance reforms would help to boost the role that ordinary New Yorkers play in campaigns.
