Rev. Jesse Jackson: New York, Don’t Miss the Moment on Public Financing of Elections (Op-Ed)

Civil rights activist, Rev. Jesse Jackson, urged the Governor and legislative leaders to pass real campaign finance reform. He wrote, “If we want to have an honest, transparent and democratic electoral system, then we have to pay for it. Allowing the rich to pay for our elections abdicates our responsibility as citizens, and inevitably gives us decision makers who are in thrall to the wealthy.”
