How to reduce the influence of big donors on city government (Editorial)

A Baltimore City Council committee is considering legislation to create a voluntary small donor public financing system on Tuesday, fulfilling the wish of voters who passed a ballot measure to introduce public financing to city elections last November. The Baltimore Sun editorial board writes, “Make no mistake, the projected $2.5 million annual cost represents a worthwhile investment, and we believe most city residents agree.”
