In response to an article published by the New York Times on the fusion voting controversy surrounding the Public Campaign Financing Commission, Frederick A.O. Schwarz Jr., the former Chairman of the Campaign Finance Board and NY LEAD member, wrote a letter encouraging the press and the Commission to focus on its main task: designing a public financing system for New York state. “Fusion voting is far from the commission’s mandate,” Schwarz concluded.
