Citing the many benefits of small donor public financing, the Newsday editorial board urges legislators in the state Senate and Assembly to put the reform in their respective one-house budgets. This policy has been supported by members of both houses in previous sessions. With a favorable majority in the Senate and Assembly, Albany has the opportunity to make small donor public financing a reality for New Yorkers. Per the editorial board, “to stop short would be nothing short of hypocrisy.”
