The work of the New York State Public Campaign Financing Commission is “a massive project and shift for New York, with the goal of setting up a system incentivizing politicians to solicit small contributions,” writes journalist Mark Chiusano in Long Island’s Newsday. To accomplish this task, the Commission will likely host a series of public hearings this fall and are considering New York City’s multiple match small donor public financing program as a model.
